Ammanford's new charity store gets off to flying start

8:50am Friday 3rd February 2012

SHOPPERS in Ammanford have helped the Barnardo’s store in the town to achieve the best sales against targets in the country in the Christmas build-up last month.

After being open as a donation centre only since April last year, the Ammanford shop – based in Unit A, Carregaman Lane – came out on top of the 450 stores that Barnardo’s operates across the UK. Store manager Sue Langford said: “We’ve had a great few months since the store opened and people in Ammanford have been very generous with their donations and supporting the shop.

“Sales have been great, but we are still in need of furniture items to sell, such as sofas, curtains and other household items.

Donation centres are Barnardo’s stores with a difference – they have been specifically created with donating in mind.We have plenty of parking so you can quickly and efficiently drop off your bags of unwanted clothing, books and bric-a-brac to our friendly staff on your way to the surrounding shops or alternatively, donate and go without parking charges!

“A house pick-up service is available for furniture donations.”
