Policing teams join forces to beat speed

THE Clydach and Pontardawe Neighbourhood Policing Teams have joined forces to tackle speeding issues in the area.
A speed survey was conducted along Pontardawe Road in Clydach and Swansea Road in Trebanos, which took the speed of 112 vehicles.
The average speed along the 30mph stretch of the road was 27.9mph, with the highest reading 39mph and the lowest being 19mph.
Police Community Support Officer Gurjit Singh, of the Pontardawe Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We will continue to work with our colleagues in Clydach to tackle speeding along Swansea Road and Pontardawe Road which is of concern to many local residents.
“Seven drivers who were caught driving over the speed limit were warned on this occasion, but they will be fined should they be caught exceeding the limit again.”
